The Chairman of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), Davit Narmania, awarded certificates to the participants of the course "Energy Tourism" which was specifically created for guides within the framework of the Energy Training Center.
"Energy Training Center not only helps people working in the energy sector to improve their qualifications, but also it aims at raising interest of different groups towards energy related issues. Guides are the right target group that should have comprehensive information on both technical characteristics and history of energy facilities. The training course "Energy Tourism" was created specifically for guides and it aims to provide information to guides about the past, present day and perspectives of the Georgian energy sector. Interest towards the course is growing, and I hope that gradually the Energy Training Center will be able to train all guides in energy issues who are already operating in the tourism sector and persons wishing to become guides, -said Davit Narmania”.
Within the framework of the training course on "Energy Tourism", the participants got familiar with the energy terminology, issues of functioning and regulation of the energy system of Georgia, and the history of hydro and thermal energy.
Director of the Energy Training Center, Nugzar Beridze, GNERC Commissioner and ERRA President Maya Melikidze, Zaza Chitanava, Member of the Association of Guides of Georgia gave speeches at the certificate award ceremony.
